Terms for using Compass practice services.

These terms govern free and paid use of Compass in Canada. By creating an account or purchasing access, you agree to these terms.

Independent preparation product

Compass is an independent exam-preparation product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of IELTS, CELPIP, Pearson PTE, ETS TOEFL, ETS TOEIC, Cambridge English, TEF, TCF, exam providers, or immigration authorities. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners.

Practice boundaries

Compass provides original practice and indicative estimates, not official testing. There is no guaranteed score, pass result, admission, employment, or immigration outcome. A Compass estimate is not an official score. Writing is saved but not graded and receives no automated feedback. Speaking is not recorded, not uploaded, not transcribed, graded, or scored.

Free access

A verified free Compass account can use one TCF Canada diagnostic, thirty objective-practice items in total, and one user-selected mini mock. These lifetime allowances require no card and are enforced by the server; creating extra accounts to evade them is prohibited.

Fixed-duration passes

Paid offers are CAD $69.99 for 30 days, CAD $149.99 for 90 days, and CAD $249.99 for 365 days, before applicable tax. A pass starts when the verified purchase is granted, ends at the displayed time, and does not renew. It is not a subscription. Expiry does not delete learner progress.

Purchases, stores, and taxes

Web payment is processed by Stripe. Native purchases are processed by Apple or Google Play and must use the relevant store system. Checkout shows the price, currency, duration, and applicable tax before confirmation. Refund responsibility follows the Refund Policy and the provider that processed the purchase.

Acceptable use

Do not share accounts, evade access limits, scrape protected content, interfere with service security, upload unlawful material, or copy and redistribute Compass content. Compass may restrict abusive access while preserving legally required remedies.

Availability and changes

Compass may correct errors, update exam-format mappings, retire unsafe or stale content, and perform maintenance. No uninterrupted or error-free service is promised. Material paid-access changes do not shorten an already granted pass without a legal remedy.
