COOKIE POLICY

Essential storage first; optional analytics by choice.

Compass uses cookies on the web and equivalent secure storage on mobile only for the purposes described here.

Version 2026.1 · Effective 2026-07-19

01

Essential storage

Essential cookies protect email sign-in sessions, trusted mutations, locale, access enforcement, and security. They are required to provide signed-in features and cannot be disabled inside Compass.

02

Optional analytics

Optional first-party analytics is off until an affirmative choice. It records named funnel events and coarse context, not answers, writing, speaking content, advertising identifiers, full URLs, or retained IP addresses. Compass does not use third-party advertising cookies.

03

Change your choice

Use the Route signals control in the Privacy page to enable or disable optional analytics. Withdrawal applies to future collection. Browser settings can remove cookies, but removing an essential session cookie signs the learner out.

04

Retention

Session cookies expire with the server session or are cleared at sign-out and account deletion. Optional raw analytics is deleted after 90 days. Security logs may be retained for the period needed to investigate abuse and meet legal duties.

05

Questions

Use cookiesUrl for the current policy, privacyUrl for broader data practices, and supportUrl for questions. Final public URLs must replace these placeholders before activation.
